Remember Who You Are
For therapists seeking support rooted in systemic, embodied, and liberatory practices in relationship with the living world.
~offered by Cooper Stodden, LMFT, RPT (they)~
Offered outdoors in skEba’kst (skuh-BAHKST), colonially-named Seward Park in South Seattle, WA
Supervision and consultation with me take place outdoors in so-called South Seattle, where we get to practice being in relationship with each other and the land while co-holding your clients and attuning to your practice. Meeting outside means that we can spend our time walking through the forest, sitting by the lake, attending to what’s happening in our nervous systems, and turning to the more-than-human world for support when the work feels heavy or complex.
My approach to supervision is shaped by systems thinking, anti-oppressive practice, somatic awareness, and collective liberation. For me, supervision is not only about skill-building or meeting licensure requirements, although those are important considerations. It’s also about becoming more fully yourself in your practice while developing the capacity to co-hold complexity, care, accountability, and connection at the same time.
Queer, ADHD-Affirming Supervision
As a queer, nonbinary, ADHDer therapist, I love working with other QT ADHDers. So often we move through our early clinical work with the gifts of our creativity, intuition, sensitivity, relational attunement, and abilities in pattern recognition. But most of us struggle with documentation and other administrative tasks, while navigating systems that reward neuronormative masking and overperformance. Chronic self-doubt caused by ongoing systemic and internalized ableism can deeply affect a new clinician’s mental health. The ongoing process of unlearning internalized messaging and finding your own authentic ways of working is, for me, one of the most vital aspects of ADHD-affirming supervision.
I can help you as you explore structures that honor your unique system and neurotype. These are skills I have learned ongoingly through my own lived experience as well as through supporting other ADHDers with the practices of radical acceptance, self-compassion and creative problem-solving. We’ll work together to find ways for you to approach administrative tasks like documentation and tracking licensure requirements so they feel less daunting and more aligned with your natural rhythm.
Eco Supervision in the Natural World
We need relational, embodied spaces where we are not asked to disconnect from ourselves or override our basic needs, but instead are invited into interconnection, interdependence, and wholeness.
Nature-based supervision and consultation, like ecotherapy, offers something distinct from virtual or even in-office work. Movement, fresh air, and the forest ecosystem all support reflection, nervous system regulation, slowing down, perspective, and connection. This setting helps us remember that we are people inside living systems, not just clinicians holding everything alone. Within a licensure system so directly shaped by individualism, we can remember that we were never meant to do this work alone.
Many therapists are interested in ecotherapy but aren’t sure how to start. Nature-based supervision and consultation with me will support interested clinicians not only in learning the logistics of nature-based therapy, but in feeling confident and well prepared in this offering. Working in this way will shape your way of being a therapist while also creating space in your work week to connect with the more-than-human world.
Additional Expertise I Bring to Supervision and Consultation
My work as a nature-based supervisor and consultant is deeply shaped by my training in family systems therapy. As an LMFT, I bring a systemic lens into supervision, looking not only at individual clients, but at relational patterns, larger systems, and the contexts people are living inside of. As a Registered Play Therapist, I bring expertise in working with children and their families, including nature-based play therapy, family play therapy, and parent support.
I enjoy supporting clinicians who want to integrate Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) into their practice, including nature-based IFS. I am a Level 2 trained IFS therapist and have been a Program Assistant for the IFS Institute. IFS offers a powerful framework for understanding both our clients and ourselves, and it informs the way I approach supervision.

We are not supposed to heal alone.
We have to love ourselves into who we want to be. Love is part of accountability. I love people enough to ask them to change. Actionable love, the love connected to I believe in us.
